Kevin Kilkenny

A.T.C.

Kevin Kilkenny, A.T.C., Director of Athletic Training Services; and Kathleen Kilkenny Febos, MA, PT, Clinical Director of Generations Physical Therapy, offer the absolute best in physical therapy for all the residents of West Islip and the surrounding communities.


Mr. Kevin Kilkenny has over 15 years of experience as an Athletic Trainer. He graduated from Central Connecticut State University in 1991 with a degree in Physical Education and a specialty in Sports Medicine.

 

Kevin’s experience as a trainer includes working as an Assistant Athletic Trainer with the New York Jets for two seasons, assisting with pre-season training. Kevin also worked as the Head Athletic Trainer for the Harlem Globetrotters, during this time he was responsible for all medical conditions while the team was on a World Tour to 35 different countries throughout Europe, the Middle East, Asia and the Americas.

 

Kevin has worked with many of the local high schools, including Kings Park, White Plains, South Hampton, Comswogue, St. Johns, West Islip, Central Islip and Islip to help in the development of their athletic training programs. He is frequently requested to lecture for various sports medicine topics such as Weight Training Modification for High School Athletes, The Effects of Steroids, Pre-season Injury Assessment and Advances in Knee and Shoulder Rehabilitation. Kevin is currently pursing a certification as a National Strength and Conditioning Specialist.

 

 

Kevin has worked with a number of therapy organizations to aide in marketing and management. He worked with St. Charles Out-patient Rehabilitation Department concentrating on the marketing aspects for the organizations 15 sites. Kevin also worked for New York Physical Therapy as a General Manager overseeing all managerial aspects for both Nassau and Suffolk County. Under his guidance there was a growth of 50% throughout the district.

 

Kevin has developed numerous weight training protocols for all aspects of sports, specializing in individual position training. He has worked with all levels of athletes from professional to high school in football, basketball, hockey, soccer, boxing, wrestling, cycling, baseball and swimming.

 

Kevin is using his vast knowledge as an Athletic Trainer and his experience in Management, in his new position as the Director of Athletic Training Services for Generations Physical Therapy.

Kathleen Kilkenny Febos

MA, PT, Clinical Director

Kathleen is an accomplished Physical Therapist with over twenty years of clinical experience. She graduated from the University of Connecticut with a Bachelors degree in Physical

Therapy and an Advanced Masters in Sports Medicine. She is certified in Cyriax Orthopedic

Medicine theory and Manual Techniques, and has lectured extensively throughout the northeast on this topic.


While in private practice in Connecticut, Kathleen was the therapist for the Hartford Ballet,

working with their professional and student dancers. As a founding member of PTSMA, the

largest sports Medicine Rehabilitation Group in Connecticut, she had the opportunity to work

with numerous professional athletes from the Hartford Whalers NHL, the New Britain Red Sox,

(AA Baseball), the PGA (on tour for the Hartford Open), the Ice Capades (home based in

Simsbuiy, CT) and the Hartford Hellions Soccer Team.


Kathleen has been very involved with the educational community, serving as Educational

Coordinator for PTISMA, coordinating student internships and contracts with 15 universities

throughout the country. She served as adjunct faculty with the UCONN, Quinnipiac University,

Springfield College and University of Hartford Physical Therapy programs. She has also

served as a member of the advisory committee for UCONN and University of Hartford helping

them develop their curriculum for accreditation.


Women’s Health has been an area a of special interest and post graduate study for Kathleen. She has had special training in assessment and treatment of pelvic floor dysfunction, incontinence, lymphedema, interstitial cystitis and pregnancy related issues (low back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, sciatica and postural body mechanics), As the former Director of St. Charles Women’s Health Source she developed programs to address these clinical problems. She also designed and implemented pre and post-natal fitness educational programs.


Kathleen is one of very few physical therapists in Suffolk County skilled in all of these areas.

Combined with her extensive background and dynamic speaking skills, she has frequently been asked to lecture at various professional and public forums.

Dr. Connor Daly 

PT, DPT 

Born and raised in West Islip, Dr. Connor Daly graduated from Stony Brook University with a Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy in 2021. He earned his undergraduate Bachelor of Science degree in Science, Technology, and Society from Farmingdale State College in 2018. His primary experience lies in outpatient rehabilitation, where he has treated a variety of conditions including orthopedic, post-operative, gait and balance dysfunction, and return-to-sport for high school and collegiate athletes. He utilizes an evidenced-based and patient-centered treatment approach that emphasizes therapeutic exercise, postural/core stabilization, manual therapy, and movement training.

 

Connor is motivated to pursue continued education and has aspirations to obtain his Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist certification in the future. Outside of work, Connor enjoys weight lifting, spending time on his boat, and watching his favorite New York sports teams. .
